The United German-American Societies of San Francisco and Vicinity, Inc. was founded in 1890 in order to achieve cooperation among the more than 60 German Clubs that existed in the Bay Area. From the very beginning the U.G. A. S.'s mission has been to organize and promote German cultural events all over the Bay Area.

Our 100th Anniversary was a splendid success and held special meaning as Germany's reunification occurred during our celebration in 1990. 2004 promises to provide the next chapter in our colorful history!
